SUMMARY OF THE MENTOR TEXT:

Llama wakes up. It is time for his first day of Llama school! He gets dressed, eats his breakfast, and heads out with his mama to meet his new teacher.

But, when Mama says goodbye, he suddenly is very sad. He does not want to build or play. He does not want to read or even eat lunch!

When his friends realize that he misses his mama, they invite him to play outside. Suddenly, he realizes how much fun school is! He draws, he slides, and he plays in the playhouse.

At the end of the story, Mama comes back! He loves both his mama and his new school.
