SUMMARY OF THE MENTOR TEXT:
The story The Anti-Test Anxiety Society by Julia Cook is about a girl named BB who hates taking tests. She thinks the words test stands for terrible every single time! When BB goes to take a test the hair on the back of her neck stands up, her face turns as red as a beet, she starts to sweat, her stomach aches, and she can’t control her feet. She knows she will get a bad grade on the tests so she doesn’t even want to try.
One day, BB tells her teacher how she feels about taking tests and her teacher says she should join the The Anti-Test Anxiety Society. This a group of kids who prepare for tests and try their best. They teach BB the Dynamic Dozen steps for preparing for a test and trying your best on the test. With the help of society, BB changes her mindset about test-taking.
